An Insurance bet gives you insurance against the dealer having a Blackjack. The Insurance bet is treated independently from your main wager and pays 2:1 – so you will receive two dollars for every dollar bet.
The Insurance bet is only available after the Dealer's exposed card is revealed to be an ace.
